WOOD
Perhaps one of the most desired and treasured part of a home’s décor in consumers’ minds is a home that has hardwood flooring. Ask any home realtor and they will confirm that a home that has hardwood flooring will sell faster and for more money. Hardwood flooring will add warmth and beauty to any home, is the most desired floor covering and will increase the value of any home whether solid or engineered.
Choosing the desired wood is the only real decision you face. There are some characteristics that are common to each category: solid wood is more frequently site-finished, is always in a plank format, is generally thicker than engineered wood, and is usually installed by nailing.
Engineered wood is more frequently pre-finished, has beveled edges, is very rarely site-finished, and is installed with glue or as a floating installation.
It is difficult to compare solid wood flooring to engineered wood flooring due to the wide range of quality in both product categories.
The most common Hardwood flooring species used for solid wood floors are Red Oak Hardwood flooring, White Oak Hardwood flooring, and Maple Hardwood flooring, but many other species are offered.
